Spokane County Facility Faces Stringent Phosphorus Limit

Ground was broden in early June on the $l40-million Spokane County Regional Water Reclamation Facility (WRF), an 8 mgd (30,280 m~3/d) plant that is expected to have one of the lowest discharge limits for total phosphorus in the nation. The combination of chemically enhanced primary treatment and membrane bioreactors is expected to enable the facility to comply with the stringent limit.
