Road Will Help Improve Kazakhstan's Economy

The Asian Development Bank has agreed to lend $700 million to the government of Kazakhstan for the construction of a 2,715 km roadway from the eastern city of Khorgos (Korgas), near the country's border with China, to the country's western border with Russia. To be called the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Transport Corridor I, the road is expected to create jobs and increase trade between Beijing and Brussels, Belgium, thus improving the economy of the entire region.
