Climate Change Could Pose Major Risk to One-Third of U.S. Counties By 2050, Report Says

As A Result of climate change, approximately 70 percent of U.S. counties may face some risk of water shortages by 2050, according to a report released in July by the Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental organization that has its headquarters in New York City. The report, which was prepared for the council by the engineering consulting firm Tet-ra Tech, of Pasadena, California, highlights regions of the country that most likely will need to take action to ensure the availability of adequate water supplies four decades from now.
