After three years of Hi work and a great deal of controversy, restoration of the Ponte dei Sos-piri (Bridge of Sighs), in Venice, Italy, is now complete. The project began after a piece of marble fell off of the famed bridge and struck an elderly German tourist in the leg in 2007.The€2.8-million (U.S.$3.7-million) project included cleaning and restoring the bridge as well as the facade of the adjoining Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace).
