BRT bridge gets AfriSam's concrete support

Leading concrete solutions company AfriSam has played an integral part in the construction of the attractive and highly visible cable-stayed bridge crossing one of South Africa's busiest highways, the M1, between the Grayston Drive and Marlboro Drive off-ramps in Johannesburg. The 258 m bridge is part of the Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system linking Sandton, Alexandra and the Johannesburg central business district (CBD). This project sees the City of Johannesburg rolling out 'eco-mobile' infrastructure to improve mobility for commuters. The location of the bridge creates a link between Katherine Street in Sandton and Old Pretoria Road in Wynberg, which takes traffic towards the Johannesburg CBD.
