CIVIL ENGINEERS are global leaders building a better quality of life. When I decided to become a civil engineer, I couldn't articulate that vision, but I know it's what drove my decision: the opportunity to lead, shape our communities, and ultimately make life better for our loved ones.Today, civil engineering is at a crossroads. Many of us are local leaders, andyet, when decisions are made about our communities' infrastructure and about our profession, we are not the leaders making them.
