Anastomosis of duodenal mucosa with gastric wall: a report of 45 cases

Billroth Ⅰ operation is the best procedure to do the subtotal gastrectomy for duodenal ulcer. It restores the gas- troduodenal continuation and decreases complications. In the past, however, when there were too many scars in the ulcer, only Billroth Ⅱoperation was performed. Today, surgical treatment form duodenal ulcer has been reduced significantly in big hospitals due to the good results achieved by medical treatment. But the operation becomes more difficult for pa- tients in whom the medical treatment fails. Moreover, most of these patients receive traditional operations at the grass roots hospitals and can not be treated effectively.
