Abu Dhabi Combines Chemaweyaat and Adbic Petchem Complexes

Two competing olefin projects in Abu Dhabi have been combined into a single project. Abu Dhabi National Chemical Co (Chemaweyaat) and Abu Dhabi Basic Industries Corp (Adbic) plan to join up to build one liquids cracker. The combined cracker will eventually be built near Ruwais, close to the three petrochemical complexes of Borouge, a 60-40 jv between Adnoc and Borealis. The planned cracker will be linked to the Takreer refinery and be based primarily on naphtha feedstock but able to consume other refinery streams.
