摘要

Theoretical bases and the results of experimental studies and practical application of ultrasonic monitoring (USM) are considered for butt and corner welded joints and equipment made of corrosion-resistant steels of the austenitic and austenitic-ferritic classes with a wall thickness of 4-30 mm. It is shown that the reliability of detecting impermissible weld defects relates to the requirements of specifications. USM entirely replaces radiographic monitoring. In manufacturing vessels and equipment made of corrosion-resistant (CR) steels, i.e., highly-alloyed steels of the austenitic and austenitic-ferritic classes, the following forms of welding are used: manual arc, automatic and semi-automatic, beneath a layer of flux, in a protective gas atmosphere, automatic beneath a layer of flux with a granulated addition and electroslag [1, 2].
