摘要

Water atomized by a centrifugal-jet sprayer under a pressure ranging from 2 to 6 MPa is investigated. The average sizes of the drops that are formed in the spray are determined and compared with the sizes of some of the drops obtained on the basis of formulas cited in the literature. It is shown that best convergence with experimental data can be obtained when the average linear dimension of a drop is calculated from formula (7), and the median dimension with respect to mass from formula (10).
