Process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals

OSHA has announced plans to make changes to the Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals standard, 29 CFR 1910.119. The purpose of this standard is to prevent or minimize the consequences of a catastrophic release of toxic, reactive, flammable, or explosive Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs) from a process. This standard contains a list of HHCs and their respective threshold quantities. A process is covered by the standard if it contains an amount of a HHC greater than or equal to the threshold quantity.
