In March 2013 the nonwovens producer Freudenberg, Weinheim/Germany, opened a new production site in Chengdu, Sichuan Province/China. With a total invest of Yuan 36 million, the Group will serve the growing demand for automotive filters in Western China and is expanding its global filter production network. With around 500 employees in its sales and production sites in Changchun, Chengdu and Suzhou, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has built a strong presence in China over the past 10 years and is growing rapidly. Market activities in China are conducted together with joint venture partner Japan Vilene Company. Freudenberg Filtration Technologies already has plants in Changchun and Suzhou and started its first production site in China in 1998. 60 employees will work in the new site by the end of 2013.
