Indian companies: pact for low carbon technologies

Three Indian cement companies - ACC, Shree Cement and Ultra Tech Cement -who are members of the Cement Sus-tainability Initiative (CSI) of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), have signed a cooperation agreement with the International Finance Commission (IFC) in Geneva to support investments in low carbon technologies in India. In particular, IFC support will enable CSI member companies in India to undertake a resource efficiency assessment looking into the feasibility of implementation of these technologies at selected manufacturing plants.
