So you are going to a combat training center (CTC) for a rotation in the decisive-action training environment (DATE)? Awesome! Either it will be a nightmare or one of the most professionally rewarding experiences of your career to date.The determining factor is how well-trained and ready your organization is upon arrival at the CTC. Obviously, your training readiness is a direct reflection of how much time you've had to train, but it's really more a reflection of whether you trained on the right things. All units focus on the basics of squad and platoon maneuver. Some get to company maneuver. Few get to multi-echelon combined-arms maneuver training. It's up to you to set conditions and make opportunities.
