Less than 10% of the fleet tracked in this chart operates in the rest of the world: 3.4% (6 units) in Mexico and Latin America, 4.6% (8 units) in the Asia Pacific, and 1.7% (3 units) in Africa. In the past we have said that as domestic and intra-regional demand grows in the Asia-Pacific express market, that region's share of the total turboprop freighter fleet would gradually increase. While this is likely still true, the recent trend, particularly in China, has been to use freighter-converted 737-3OOs and -400s in this role. India's Deccan AirCargo has acquired two ATR72s, and is in the process of having them converted to freighter configuration, and those will likely show up in our survey next year.
