On the first business day of 2016, a 7% drop in China's CSI index triggered the automatic shutdown of stock trading in the country for the rest of the day. This "circuit breaker," installed after a 40% plunge in mid-2015, was tripped again three days later. This, along with the devaluation of the yuan and the slowing of the Chinese economy, has led to concern about the outlook for the air freight industry in 2016.
