RECORD 2012 CARGO VOLUME AT PORT OF BALTIMORE

Overall cargo volume reached an all time high at the Port of Baltimore, which led the nation for handling autos and roll on/roll off cargo, according to a port statement. The port's marine terminals moved 652,000 vehicles last year, surging 18 percent year over year. Roll on/roll off cargo, comprised of farm and construction machinery, increased 16 percent to 1.09 million tons. General cargo at the public terminals was 9.59 million tons, an increase of eight percent over 2011.
