The trucking industry is currently inundated with challenges surrounding the driver shortage issue. Many companies are finding it difficult to grow their fleets due to a lack of qualified drivers and high turnover rates in the first 90 days. With the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's new CSA challenges at hand, a driver's record is an even more critical piece of the hiring process. Associations and companies are banding together to improve the image of trucking across the country. The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is supporting a number of campaigns, including "Trucking Moves America Forward," and attracting more women and military veterans to trucking.
