A familiar face,and pen, returns

The last time I wrote a column for Cargo Business News was six years ago, back in January 2008, and the magazine was named Marine Digest and Cargo Business News. Although the magazine s name has been shortened and simplified, our industry is just as complex; often confusing (and confused?); not well understood by non-combatants (anyone not a service provider, customer, or otherwise engaged); and irreplaceable, (that is, at least for the foreseeable future) from the perspective that there are no other means of transportation capable of efficiently moving very large quantities of a virtually limitless variety of things and stuff from any country on the planet to any other country on the planet.
