After dropping into me to have a puncture repaired only four weeks earlier, the owner of this 2000 Peugeot 306 1.6 automatic, should have been ready for the light grinding noise she heard when applying the brakes. When I swapped the spare over for her I had already warned her that the front brake pads were getting exceptionally low, and should be replaced within the next few days. The 306 is used for a regular commute of around 25 miles a day and I knew that the pads didn't have too long to go.
