ALL-PARTY SUPPORT FOR CANALS

The first IWA Parliamentarian of the Year, MP Charlotte Atkins, has gained all-party support for a Parliamentary motion congratulating nine waterway organisations for their promotion of the inland waterways.rnThe motion "notes that they recognise the importance waterways have for leisure, recreation, business and freight and further notes their call for an overhaul of waterways legislation". The nine include the Inland Waterways Association, Royal Yachting Association and British Marine Federation.
