One set of politicians that the SOS2010 campaign shouldn't need to work to hard on is a group of 25 MPs with constituencies in the Thames valley who have formed a parliamentary group to promote all aspects of their river from source to sea.rnThe idea emerged from the successful campaign in 2008 to persuade navigation authority the Environment Agency to drop plans to sell off a number of lock houses, which attracted support from a number of MPs.
