Homegrown adventure

After 70 years of sailing on every ocean on this globe, and motor boating far and wide -the time has come to give away my heavy weather gear and move on to something more sedate and even relaxing,rnMy wife and I have bought a narrowboat. We have cruised the Thames to Lechlade, and done about a third of the Kennet & Avon plus the Wey Navigation. Now we would like to try the Oxford (Thames) Ring - clockwise - ie finishing at Brentford (pictured).rnObviously we have studied the guides, butrnthere is nothing quite like 'doing it' is there? Do any readers have any particular guidance they might offer to one who has never done the trip before?
