Rethink charity plans, say unions

The transformation of british waterways into a charity will 'decimate the much-loved network of waterways' unless the government rethinks its plans, according to unions representing bw staff. Unite's national officer for waterways said: "unite does not believe that the best interests of the nation are served by transferring ownership to a charity."
