摘要

Having just read your news article on the Boaters' Manifesto in January's Canal Boat, I am so outraged with their views, that I have to put characters to electronic paper in defence of free walking along the canal towpath! How dare these boaters suggest a fee to be payable by any law abiding, environment friendly walkers who only leave their footprints behind. If you step out of line, then a fine is... well fine! But a walking payment.... NO! We don't pay for a walk in a public park and we also don't pay to use the pavement alongside our roads.
