A few years ago a WRG friend of mine was visiting his folks Naturally, he took a stroll along a nearby canal under restoration - which we hadn't heard much about for a while. Imagine his surprise when he found they'd built a brand-new aqueduct over a sizeable river without telling anyone! Well, my friend sent me a photo and we got quite a 'scoop' (in canal restoration journalism terms!) But it raised the point of how important it is for restoration societies to publicise their efforts.
