The latest canal-related title in Amberley Publishing's extensive Through Time series takes us back further in history than most of the others - to a waterway that was abandoned a century ago and had already been falling derelict for years. Despite this, author (and Wilts & Berks Canal Trust activist) Doug Small has managed to assemble an impressive collection of old pictures -including paintings, aerial photographs, newspaper coverage, including several photos of working boats on the canal, as well as images from the canal's long decline during the 20th Century.
