Thanks to the boating community

We have always loved boating holidays, so when we adopted our rescue dog Charlie, it seemed fitting that the lady who was fostering him lived on her own boat in Broad Street Basin, near to our home in Wolverhampton. We decided that to celebrate our first 12 months together we would take him for a short break on the Monmouth & Brecon Canal on a boat hired from Castle Narrowboats in Gilwern. One day at Llangynidr, as we were about to get underway, he was startled by the noise of a hatch cover banging and as he turned to get back inside the boat, he landed awkwardly and broke his leg.
