With the cut's slow pace of life, perhaps it's not surprising that a concept launched a quarter of century ago should only now have made it through to the waterways. And the concept is: red noses! The 25 years since the first Red Nose Day in 1988 have seen people, vehicles and buildings decorated with the scarlet appendages - and now it's the turn of narrowboats.
