Family-run narrowboat builders Beacon Boats have announced that as a result of the serious illness of Neil Burrows, one of the partners, they have stopped building boats after ten years following completion of their 18th and final craft. The company has informed past and present customers and refunded deposits for future builds. Announcing the decision, the other partner Mr Burrows' sister-in-law Ally Myers thanked everyone for supporting them and assured customers that the company would still be contactable for seeing out warranties.
