Top Notch innovations

Last year at the Crick Show one of the first-time exhibitors really impressed us. Top Notch showed two boats - each with different layouts and fit-outs, but both crammed full of ideas. They were the company's first boats and built to show what they could do. So with Crick looming again, we were intrigued to find out how Top Notch have done in the past year and what they'd be bringing to this year's show. The answer is that they're currently building their eighth boat and they are bringing four - yes, four - to the show. And these include Cragwood, the first boat built especially for a customer. So for our test this month, we decided to see how their boats have developed and what you'll find at the show if you are going - and it's well worth a look. Inside, there's a family resemblance to last year's boats, but there's also evidence that company owner Jon Johnson is continuing to come up with innovations, clever solutions to common problems, and is continuing to produce a high quality product at a very reasonable price.
