This boat combines a top quality shell, a big name fit-out and a mammoth list of equipment. A 70-footer from Fernwood starts at around £150,000, but the extras mean it will have cost quite a bit more. For example, the shell is a one-off, the hydraulics are expensive, the generator will have added around 511,000, and the entertainment system isn't cheap. So Dubbel Dutch probably cost in the region of £180,000. This is a boat that does everything its owners wanted and it reflects their background and character. And yet it clearly still has Fernwood DNA running through it.The challenge for Andy Munro will be to keep the elements that make Fernwood special, while making his own mark. On the evidence of this boat, he's well on the way to doing that already.
