Getting in contact

I read the letter from Brian Broad (CB, Dec) and, as it happens, I tend to agree with everything he says. There was only one thing that made me boil over - boating is NOT a contact sport, never has been and never will be. We didn't buy our boat to use like a dodgem car, and it's a hobby not a sport. So when Mr Broad gets in his car and drives down the road and perhaps bumps another car with his, does he get out and say: "Sorry mate, didn't mean to hit your car but never mind it is a contact sport after all."? No, rugby, judo and wrestling are contact sports - not boating.
