Q I have fitted the larger 3/4ins Jabsco pump as part of my conversion from direct raw water cooling to indirect heat exchanger cooling as we discussed last year. I now have the larger pump sucking through the old Stuart seacock. This arrangement can pump plenty of water, but blocks with debris after 1.5 hours cruising. It's only possible to rod through the seacock and skin fitting strainer with coat hanger wire. This only works for 15 to 30mins before it reblocks. Clearing the strainer fully is only possible with waders and reaching to arms length under the hull.
