The elements struck this year's Crick Boat Show with a vengeance with torrential rain, mud, hail and traffic queues caused by a major local fire. Crick has been blessed with good weather in recent years but the Bank Holiday weekend got its revenge this year. A week of heavy rain had already left the site waterlogged but extensive temporary roadways and a lot of manpower got it set up on time and the crowds poured in - while the rain poured down! The only really happy people were the sellers of plastic overshoes who shipped in thousands for boat viewers to wear.
