The system has branch lines arranged at vertical inert gas distribution lines (1) outside a storage vessel (I) in constant or custom-made different vertical height positions. Inert gas is supplied into a fire section (II) over boreholes or slot outlets in storage vessel outer walls. An inert gas tube system is connected with a storage tank present under primary pressure outside the vessel. Fire sensors (5) activates inert gas flooding at an upper side of the vessel before an open side of the fire section in effective connection with a magnetic- or motor valve in the tube system.
