While some boaters might prefer to use their boat as an escape from all forms of communications technology, there are plenty who like to keep in touch out on the cut, from simply using a mobile phone to call friends or relatives, to installing a fully-equipped office in the saloon complete with a high-speed Internet connection. However, setting up and using your equipment on a boat is not always as straightforward as in a house, so it pays to do a little research to avoid those moments of frustration when you realise you might be missing a vital bit of kit for your phone or you just can't figure out why your new MacBook Air isn't working.
