The Toronto run of the Tony-award winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots has been extended to November 8, 2015 and the Two Ten Foundation of Canada is having a Kinky Boots happening on November 4, 2015, starting with a "Kinky" cocktail party at the Bata Shoe Museum. The musical is based on the 2005 British American film Kinky Boots. It's a gritty, feel-good mostly-true story that the Brits are so good at crafting, and so much fun, it's well worth a look: The owner of a failing footwear factory in Northampton, England dies and the firm is reluctantly taken over by his son, Charlie. When Charlie has a late night run-in with some local hoodlums, he's rescued by a transvestite cabaret performer who eventually helps him turn the business around.
