Foreign-trained engineers who are trying to find a foothold in Canada got the opportunity to engage the major forces which impact their professional lives at a town hall meeting held by the Mississauga chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) on May 22. The impressive panel included Liberal, Conservative and NDP members of the federal and provincial parliaments, representatives from PEO and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), as well as government agencies and SNC-Lavalin.rnKeynote speaker Jean Augustine, recently-installed Fairness Commissioner for Ontario, spoke first.
