IP-PBXs For SMBs: From Avaya To Zultys

We found solid performance and features in four IP-telephony packages designed for small-to-medium businesses. The small-to-medium business (SMB) environment takes on a whole new complexion with IP-telephony, especially for multiple distributed sites. Where multiple branch locations used to require a PBX or key system at each, now one SMB IP-PBX can handle it all. Detailed here are the results of BCR's and Miercom's latest review of leading "SMB" IP-PBXs. We defined our category as systems supporting from 50 to 500 users, across multiple distributed sites. We used the mid-point, 250-sta- tions, for pricing comparison. Testing was conducted in December and January.
