摘要

This book represents a comprehensive handbook for teaching business studies to different audiences, from students to MBAs and executives. It is intended for doctoral students, university instructors, corporate trainers, and consultants, as authors James Clawson and Mark Haskins explain in their introduction, but it could also be of interest to readers in many other academic disciplines. In chapter 1, Clawson classifies the main elements of effective teaching: institutional culture (from "normal" academic universities with an emphasis on research, to consulting firms and corporate universities with a greater focus on teaching); students (with their different learning styles, motivation, and backgrounds); faculty (taking their hard and soft skills into account); materials (including their selection, use, and types); methodology (lecturing, case method, and discussions); and last but not least, setting or facilities (including ambient sounds, room temperature, air conditioning, the position of the overhead and computer projector in a room, etc.).
