Nancy opts for optically guided trolleybuses

The French city of Nancy has decided that any future developments of its guided trolleybus network (Buses last month) will be by optically-guided conventional trolleybuses, rather than more rail-guided Bombardier TVRs. Inrnthe first instance, one line — T2 — is planned.rnCaen, the Norman city running the only other TVR system, says it is still considering its future expansion. Bombardier might produce additional vehicles of the same type as the presentrnfleet, but the cost for a few vehicles would be high as this would involve restarting the production line. Extensions are required, but at present it is not clear what form these will take, or what vehicles will be acquired to work them.
