A newly established community interest company has saved the DalesBus network of Sunday and bank holiday services in Yorkshire, providing what its backers believe is the best bus provision there for many years. Earlier funding threats to the routes' future were averted by the Yorkshire Dales Society and the Yorkshire Dales Public Transport Users Group (YDPTUG) setting up the Dales & Bowland Community Interest Company to combine local authority funding with grants and donations from a variety of other organisations, to develop an integrated travel network radiating from Ilkley, Skipton and Ribblehead railway stations. New services include Dales Experience express 814 linking Bradford, Shipley and Bingley to Malham, with interchange at Skipton for buses to Grassington and Bolton Abbey, and Cravenlink 884 linking Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Embsay and Skipton to provide the first bus service to Halton Heights in many years.
