Fleets need to be smarter to gain more respect

In his Inside Track column last month, 'Who could be our Joanna Lumley?' Brian Cox hit just the right note about counteracting possible reductions in spending with the need for first class branding and someone to shout from the rooftops about our bus services, saying that '...despite the unyielding efforts made by Brian Souter [Stagecoach] and other industry leaders, the bus industry does not garner the respect it deserves'.rnSadly Mr Souter's own company is partly responsible for the lack of respect and use of services provided, particularly in rural areas. Stagecoach Warwickshire's fleet serving the Stratford-upon-Avon area is, in the majority, old in need of a deep clean internally and an external repaint. It is no wonder that the local populous (and our many tourists) prefer to use their cars or trains.
