Fast growth on TrawsCambria 704

Passenger loadings on the newest TrawsCambria long-distance route in Wales, 704 (Brecon-Newtown), have leapfrogged those on the X94 (Barmouth-Wrexham) route to make it the third busiest in the network. Statistics from 2007/08 to 2009/10 show the Stagecoach-operated 704, introduced in 2006, experienced the strongest growth - 22% - to 93,000 in 2009/10, against 79,000 on the X94. It is still growing, following its extension to Merthyr Tydfil this year and renumbering as T4. Stagecoach intends to extend T4 to Cardiff in next year, these extensions making the route attractive for visitors to the Brecon Beacons national park, and for Mid Wales residents travelling to Cardiff.
