Some unfamiliar buses and bus stops appeared in Glasgow in August when George Square and adjoining streets became an outpost of Hollywood. The grid pattern of its centre and lower cost of filming on this side of the Atlantic meant Scotland's largest city could masquerade as Philadelphia for the making of World War Z, a zombie takeover tale starring Brad Pitt. Apparently that is 'Zee' and not 'Zed', by the way. Traffic lights were replaced by yellow American ones hung from cables, street signs and names were changed, a couple of prominent buildings acquired new identities and Stateside vehicles of many shapes and sizes rolled into town.
