Lone late lowbridge Leyland leans with load

Pedestrians in Glasgow city centre on 26 May stop and stare as former Central SMT L484 (GM 6384) returns to passenger service after a lengthy and extensive restoration. This 7ft 6in wide lowbridge all-Leyland Titan PD2/10 is the sole survivor - other than one cut down into a recovery wagon - of 631 Titans that Central and predecessor Glasgow General bought between 1929 and 1960. It was new in October 1954 and has one of the last Leyland Motors bodies built, the last of all - an 8ft wide highbridge example - going to Trent two months later.
