Borismasters settle down on the 24

Saturday is the day for most changes in the London bus network, from timetable revisions to new route contracts. So Saturday 22 June saw the 24 (Pimlico-Hampstead Heath) become the first route changed over to full LT-class New Bus for London 'Borismaster' operation. It was the first day of dealing with the great British public for all those new attendants, conductors, stewards, maitre ds, bell hops or whatever you choose to call them. It was a pretty hairy start for them with many fully loaded buses, a couple of bus breakdowns and later major traffic problems. A seasoned observer of the London scene described it as one of the most manic days ever into which these new buses were launched.
