The reintroduction of revenue collection was completed on 11 July following safety improvements to drivers' cabs. Transport for London has also increased the advisory limits on passenger capacity in line with the relaxation of social distancing guidance from 2m to lm-plus. The limit has risen from 20 to 30 passengers (from 25 up to 35 at drivers' discretion) on double-deckers, from 10 to 14 on most single-deckers and from eight to 11 on smaller vehicles;, the discretionary capacities are 18 and 14 respectively. Together with the return to normal service levels on virtually all routes, those that had been converted temporarily to double-deck operation (Look in on London, July) have reverted to single-deckers. The network is expected to return to pre-pandemic service levels by the end of August and temporary weekend schedules should revert to weekday frequencies as quickly as drivers become available. Where garages have experienced staff shortages, they have prioritised increasing 05.00 to 07.00 early morning peak services.
