The geothermal industry is an exceptional industry. It possesses complex technology, talented people, an amazing level of passion and commitment, and just a little bit of suspense every time you drill a hole in the ground. It is the dream of any engineer, and the general lack of development in the past decade has made us all thirsty for some action. We at Enel believe that we are about to see some action, now. Geothermal is the only baseload renewable technology, and the European Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) trading scheme, Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) in the United States, and demand growth in Latin America provide an ideal context for our industry. These incentives and our ingenuity will allow us to tap increasingly marginal geothermal fields around the world.
